"True, we sheep don’t like to live alone. We get depressed. We get panic attacks."

Concert performance by Boris Kadin.

An self-ironizing retrospective of the political and ideological heritage consisting of remakes of famous Croatian pop songs (Believe in Love, Where the Danube Loves the Sky, My Homeland, That I don’t Love You…). The performance takes its name after the mass “popular” gatherings that were a common feature of the end of the 1980s in what was then Yugoslavia. At these gatherings the Serbian politicians would voice their truths about their Yugoslavia. Today Yugoslavia is no more, but what has remained is sheep Doris with her truth and her new republic: “I’m having a great time with you; I can feel I am with my herd. True, we sheep don’t like to live alone. We get depressed. We get panic attacks. I confess. I love you. I am not ashamed of my feelings, I am not afraid of being seen as dumb – I am a sheep. I love this world, this auditorium, you, the ants at the cemetery, an orchard after rain… I love this country that has given me birth. I will never forget the moment when I first felt the power of my grazing fields. It occurred to me there and then: Doris, what you have and what you feel is authentic, unique and special.” Boris Kadin

“The performance, premiered on 11th August, 2011 at the International Festival of Contemporary Theatre in Zadar, has been marked by critics as the most entertaining and witty performance at the festival. “Boris Kadin, in the style of a pre-election meeting and a rhythmic acceleration from the Dalmatian chanson to rock music, brings us political messages, which have, amongst other things, shaped also the first decade of the 21st century.” (Nives Rogoznica).
